About David Drwencke
A second year law student, David Drwencke attends the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where he enrolled in 2012. While anticipating completion of a juris doctor by January 2015, David Drwencke gains real life experience in the field of law through his position as law clerk. His job entails working for Oakland County in Pontiac, Michigan within the 6th Circuit Court. He has assisted the court with such activities as civil pre-trials and settlement conferences, conducting legal research, preparing motion recommendations for the Sixth Circuit Court judge, and organizing the docket. In this position since 2008, David Drwencke has observed more than 200 jury trials and innumerable hearings addressing a variety of legal issues.
Prior to joining the Oakland County court system as a law clerk, David Drwencke served as a field representative for the Leadership Institute heading the Campus Leadership Program for the State of Michigan. He also spent time as a regional coalition’s director for a gubernatorial race and as junior political director during a senatorial race. A self-proclaimed “tech guru,” Drwencke has an affinity for technology and reads to learn all he can about the future of the technology field. An undergraduate political science major with a minor in economics, he also holds two master’s degrees; one in public administration and a second in applied economics.
